SC/ST/Women Cell

SC & ST Cell has been constituted in the college to address the concerns of the students belong to the scheduled caste and schedule tribes, and thus are more often than not, mostly belong to the marginalized section of the society. Under the scheduled castes sub-plan of the Government of Uttarakhand, remedial classes as well as infrastructural support base- a well-equipped study room has been established for the use of the students belonging to both the scheduled castes and tribes. Presently, the facility houses around 1000 books, catering to the needs of these students in their preparation for various competitive examinations, inclusive of civil services, UGC-NET, Defense Services UPSC Examinations and others. Subject experts, principally from the teaching faculty of the college itself, ae invited to render talks on select topics of current interest.

Towards making use of the facility, the SC & ST students need to get them registered. This figure has remained more or less the same in the subsequent years. For example, 53 in 2017-18, 49 in 2018-19, 48 in 2019-20, 36 in 2020-21, and 25 in 2021-22. The dwindling numbers is obviously on account of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the college being virtually closed, and the classes being taken on-line.

To avail off the benefits of the facility, interested students may contact Dr. Farzeen Bano, Mr. Sanjay Kumar, In-charge of SC & ST Cell, at his Mob: 7895502176.
